I think you need to setup your ANT_HOME properly and make sure that you have all the required and optional jar files under ANT_HOME/lib.

just did the test: will only work until the jar is in the CLASSPATH of ur ANT JVM. either u have a custom startup script, either u did not position ANT_HOME (I guess not), or watever else. anyways I was getting the same error as u until I installed the jar file under ANT_HOME/lib to get: file:c:/Data/EJB/com/alcatel/gem/ejb/build.xml:574: The <ftp> task doesn't support the nested "description" element. which is correct according the doc. seb.
