Ok, seems noone is here with more ideas, so I can try some tips ...
"Connection closed without indication". So there was a connection.
Can you transfer one small file? Can you do a listing?
<ftp listing="file.txt" action="list"/>
Do you need a proxy (see <setproxy/>)?
